Tiffany Springs clinic team, Jamie Smith and Brynn Hays.

Staff Spotlight: Jamie Smith

What is your name?

Jamie Smith

What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Physical therapist, pelvic floor specialist at the Tiffany Springs clinic

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

I started with ARC in 2021 but have been with USPh since 2004.

Where are you from?

Sabetha, KS

Where did you go to school?

University of Nebraska Medical Center

Who or what inspired you to get into physical therapy?

I have wanted to be a physical therapist since 6th grade.

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Having been in several different clinic models, I value the ability to be able to treat my patients with techniques and critical pathways that I feel will benefit them the most and not by what the book says.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

With physical therapy, you are able to return to your previous function prior to an injury, or to enable the body to age yet remain highly functional. The adage of “well, you are not as young as you used to be” does not have to necessarily apply.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I love to travel, golf, snow ski, yard work/landscaping and spend time with family. I have also started refinishing furniture, that has been both challenging and rewarding at the same time and has proved to be a good creative outlet.

What is your favorite quote?

“Winners never cheat, cheaters never win, flash is trash, stick to the basics, learn it, love it, live it!”

Sweet or salty?

Both

Beach or mountains?

Both

Go out or stay in?

Go out for  while, but end the night in; I’m an extroverted introvert!

What inspires you?

The most rewarding thing I can ever hear a patient say is that they feel better in their whole body, despite whatever brought them to PT, than they have in years.
