Staff Spotlight: Molly Creaden

What is your name?

Molly Creaden

What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Physical Therapist at Overland Park, Kansas location

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

2020

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas!

Where did you go to school?

I got my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science at the University of Kansas and graduated in 2017.

I then moved up to the great north of Minnesota and completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.

Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I went through physical therapy on my own through high school sports injuries which initially sparked my interest and introduced me to the career.

I then fell in love with learning about anatomy and how the body moves.

I also loved learning about how exercise can help heal injuries and return people back to the activities they love doing!

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

I love helping people through the recovery process. We get the opportunity to watch individuals improve every day.

I love it when a patient is able to do an activity that they were previously limited in, but now because of their hard work in physical therapy that activity is possible!

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

Physical therapy isn’t always a quick fix and often times we get the best results with patients putting in the hard work at home outside of their appointments. This hard work can sometimes prevent more invasive surgeries or procedures.

Overall, movement and exercise is the world’s most effective drug to lower people’s risk for medical conditions like diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and more!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend time with my family and watch Kansas City sports games together (Chiefs, Sporting, Royals, and KU basketball).

I also love spending time outdoors – being active running, biking, hiking and even rollerblading!

Favorite Sports Team?

KU basketball, KC Royals, Sporting KC and KC Chiefs!

Sweet or salty?

Sweet. I love anything chocolate especially if it includes peanut butter!

Coffee or tea?

I am a crazy person and live my life without caffeine.

I have found a new love in flavored sparkling water, but that is about as creative as I get with non-alcoholic beverages.

Beach or mountains?

Mountains! I love camping and hiking.

Also love a vacation by a lake to swim and do water sports like skiing, wake surfing and tubing.
