Staff Spotlight: Mindy Prodanovic

What is your name?

Mindy Prodanovic

NKC Clinic TeamWhat is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

STRIVE Work Conditioning Coordinator, PTA, North Kansas City

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

2012

Where are you from?

I grew up in the small town of Altamont, Kansas.

Where did you go to school?

I attended the University of Kansas and got my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. I later attended Kansas City Kansas Community College to pursue becoming a PTA with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science.

mindy work conditioningWho or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I was always interested in biology and the human body. I tore my calf muscle in high school, and I was amazed at the body’s ability to heal itself, and I really enjoyed my rehab.

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

I love being able to connect with people. This is something that has been lost over the last year or so.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

Don’t be afraid to move! Our bodies need movement and exercise. Pain doesn’t always mean we are doing harm to our bodies.

Are you involved with any outside organizations? If so, what?

I like to volunteer my time with The Whole Person.  This organization provides services to those with disabilities to help improve their life and to decrease their dependence on family members.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Mindy Prodanovic with DaughterI love to bake and work with dough. I’ve perfected my pizza crust, Serbian pita, and homemade pasta. I love experiencing life with daughter. She is growing and learning something new every day. Just the other day she told me that I was her hero. She melted my heart.

How do you like to celebrate a win or a good day?

I love to celebrate with a glass-or two-of wine with my husband.

What is your favorite quote or saying?

It’s not really a favorite quote, but on many occasions, I’ve been known to ask my patients to “do just one more exercise” then that turns out to be at least 3 more… 😊

Favorite Sports Team?

Chiefs, KU basketball, and I love watching Novak Djokovic play tennis

Sweet or salty?

If I can’t have both, I’ll always choose sweet.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee!

Mindy Prodanovic FamilyBeach or mountains?

Mountains with lots of hiking, drinking coffee and enjoying the views, but a dream vacation would be going somewhere with both!

Go out or stay in?

I’m pretty much a homebody.  But I’m ready now, more than ever, to get back out and be social!
