What is your name?
Grant Waller, ATC, LAT
What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?
Athletic Trainer in Iowa
Who or what inspired you to get into the athletic training space?
I was always fascinated watching people run out onto the field during games to help athletes. I told my mom that’s exactly what I wanted to do when I was older, to help and support athletes. I love being around sports and since playing pro wasn’t in the cards, why not be involved in them.
What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?
Getting to work with new individuals every day, creating new relationships, and the number of relationships and events I get to attend at Ankeny High School.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or athletic training?
We’re not glorified water boys. We see athletes at their highest highs, but also at their lowest points of life and get to help them grow as individuals. I also wish more people knew that being double jointed isn’t a real thing.
