What is your name?
Andrew Hawkins
What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?
Lead Physical Therapist in the Topeka Clinic
When did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?
October 2020.
Although I have been a PT for 7 years, I just recently joined the ARCPT+ Team. Prior to joining the ARCPT+ Team, I worked for 4 years as Rehab Coordinator for the Los Angeles Angels Baseball team.
Where are you from?
Silver Lake, Kansas
Where did you go to school?
I went to Silver Lake Junior and Senior High School. In 2010, I graduated from Emporia State University with a BS in Athletic Training. Finally, I graduated from USC in 2013 in Physical Therapy.
Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?
I have always been interested in helping athletes prevent and recover from injuries.
What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?
With many other organizations, workers’ compensation patients are often seen at high volume clinics, where a therapist sees a high number of patients and there is little time to personalize care to any single patient. ARCPT+ has worked hard to build a different model of care, providing treatment and programs that are specific to the patient and their job. With ARC, we can provide better care to each patient that walks through our doors.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?
Physical therapists can see patients without needing a referral from a doctor in the state of Kansas (called Direct Access)! Seeing a physical therapist first for most orthopedic injuries can save patients time and money, and help them recover quicker.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Hunt, spend time at the lake, woodwork, watch sports.

Los Angeles Angels (the team I used to work with as their Rehabilitation Coordinator)
