What is your name?

Michelle Grace

Michelle Grace Liberty Clinic PhotoWhat is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Lead Physical Therapist at our Liberty clinic

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

2018

Where are you from?

I am originally from New Franklin, Missouri (small town ~ 25 miles west of Columbia) but have lived in Kansas City, Missouri since 2016.

Where did you go to school?

I attended the University of Missouri for my undergraduate studies, earning my Bachelors of Science in Parks and Recreation with an emphasis in Sports Management and a business minor. I attended PT school at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri earning my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018.

Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I was inspired to get into the physical therapy space after going through physical therapy myself several times in high school when injuries kept me from playing softball competitively.

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

For me, one of my favorite parts of working at ARC Physical Therapy + is getting to work with so many clinicians of various backgrounds and specialties. There is never a shortage of clinicians to bounce ideas off of and to learn from. And on top of that, we are expected to see fewer patients than other therapy locations, which allows us to spend more quality time with our patients. What could be better than that?!

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

Physical therapy takes teamwork with your therapist to improve your symptoms. So many times patients state that they’re slowly improving, but aren’t doing their exercises at home. When you’re doing your exercises at home, WE KNOW, and it shows through progress!

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love to soak up all the time I can with my husband, newborn daughter, and doodle. We love to get outside and enjoy fresh air whenever we can, whether that be a walk through our neighborhood or playing ball at the park.

What is your favorite quote or saying?

“Enjoy the little things in life.”

A good laugh, sweet baby smiles, helping patients feel better, having awesome co-workers; does it get much better?!

Favorite Sports Team?

Go Chiefs!!

Sweet or salty?

Sweet, then salty… I love both!

Coffee or tea?

Coffee, coffee, coffee! Anytime, anywhere. Is my hand twitching as I write this from too much caffeine?? I’m not going to tell 😉

Beach or mountains?

I am definitely more of a beach person. Vitamin D and the sound of relaxing ocean waves, how can you go wrong with that?!

baby and dogGo out or stay in?

I’m all for staying in, and not just because of COVID-19. Can’t beat the time at home with my family. Plus my daughter is already growing so fast and changing every day; I don’t want to miss out on all her new skills and smiles.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Laughing is my favorite, and I have an appreciation for sarcasm. I may occasionally break out in song or dance as well. It might not be pretty, but hey, I have fun!
