Staff Spotlight: Danielle Garcia

What is your name?

Danielle Garcia

What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Physical Therapist Assistant

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

2015

Where are you from?

Kansas City, MO

Where did you go to school?

Park University (BS in Fitness and Wellness) and Penn Valley Community College (PTA Degree)

Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I always wanted to work in the health field. I also loved the idea of helping someone one-on-one, starting at a low point from being injured and then working with them to get back to living their normal life (or better).

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

I like the patients that I work with, and getting them back to work is very fulfilling. The people I work with are great too. I never have that feeling of dreading going back to work because of those things. Every day is different. There are always new people and new ways to learn on the job from your co-workers or even your patients.

Are you involved with any outside organizations? If so, what?

I run my own personal training business: Mind and Body Fitness.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Working out, specifically lifting heavy at the gym. Running. Working on updating the house my husband and I bought about 1 year ago. Finding new small businesses in KC, specifically the ones with food! My husband and I like to try new pizza places, but Stone Canyon Pizza in Gladstone, Missouri is still #1. I’ve also run 2 marathons (KC and Chicago), multiple half marathons, and have competed in 2 bodybuilding shows, in the figure and bikini categories. I plan on doing my 3rd competition in spring 2021.

Go out or stay in?

I enjoy a good healthy mix of staying in and going out. Sometimes I am up for a good party/socialization, but sometimes I need to re-charge and stay home.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I love to travel, and my husband and I are planning on taking our dogs to either the beach or to the mountains in Colorado in September! Our dogs are our fur babies for sure.
