Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?
My dad was a hospital administrator so I grew up around healthcare environments. I knew from an early age that I would have a career somewhere in the medical field.
What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?
Variety! In addition to treating vestibular, concussion and neuro patients, I really enjoy managing and overseeing the running of our Kansas City, Kansas clinic. Diving into the financial metrics, marketing our programs, attending internal and external meetings with and on behalf of ARCPT+, are all aspects of this position that I really enjoy.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?
The body wants to heal itself, but sometimes it needs some guidance on how to get started and which direction to go. Also, concussion symptoms that last more than a few days are NOT normal. Vestibular rehab can help people suffering from concussion get back on track and back to doing the things they love.
Are you involved with any outside organizations? If so, what?
I’m an active member and volunteer with Common Grace Church, an extension campus of Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe. I’ve been on > 30 mission trips. I’ve delivered physical therapy treatment on many medical trips to underserved areas of central Mexico, and, as a youth group leader, I’ve also participated in many youth mission trips.
