June 2009

Missouri Western State University

Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I originally started out wanting to be an elementary teacher. I quickly learned that was not the career path for me. I wanted to be able to make an impact in people’s lives daily and found just the right career in Physical Therapy.

Kristy Robinson World SeriesWhat do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

What I like most about ARC Physical Therapy+ is my team. We have a unique bond and always work together for the best of our clients. We may go weeks without seeing each other but that does not affect our teamwork. I really enjoy the onsite world where I am on the job sites seeing firsthand what is required of employees on a daily basis and the way I am able to make a direct impact on their overall wellbeing at that level.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

One thing I wish folks knew is that just because something hurts or you are unable to do something, doesn’t mean you cannot do it. There are ways of modifying activities and exercises so that anyone can do them.

Are you involved with any outside organizations? If so, what?

I do not have a lot of free time but I am involved in our high school’s Athletic Booster Club and am passionate about the Down Syndrome Guild of Kansas City.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my daughter play softball, and road trips, especially ones that aren’t on highways. I love seeing different parts of the country and looking at wildlife and wide open spaces.
