Staff Spotlight: Anne Wingett, Wichita Clinic Director

What is your name?

Anne Wingett

What is your role at ARC Physical Therapy+?

Clinic Director for the Wichita area clinics

What year did you begin working at ARC Physical Therapy+?

2015

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas

Where did you go to school?

I got my undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and came back home to get my degree in physical therapy from Wichita State University.

Who or what inspired you to get into the physical therapy space?

I started out wanting to be a physician, but realized quickly that I really preferred to spend more time with people going through the rehab process and getting to know them and their families and stories. Their “why” makes this job really worth doing!

What do you like most about your work at ARC Physical Therapy+?

I really enjoy our patients and how hard most of them work to get better. Workers’ compensation can have such a negative reputation, but the majority of my patients just want to get back to what they were doing before they were injured. I enjoy being part of changing that stigma.

Autism Walk

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about the body or physical therapy?

You get out what you put in. I can and will be your biggest advocate and cheerleader, but you have to work hard for me, both in and out of the clinic!

Are you involved with any outside organizations? If so, what?

One of my nieces is profoundly autistic and non-verbal, so my family participates in Autism Awareness walks every year.

What do you like to do in your free time?

My husband and I have two young children, so free time is not something we have much of these days. I enjoy spending time with my family at home and getting out and doing more active things in the community – going to the zoo, riding bikes, or jumping at the trampoline park.

How do you like to celebrate a win or a good day?

Taking the kids out for ice cream is one of my favorite ways to end a good day.

What is your favorite quote or saying?

A tree’s strength lies in its ability to bend.

Favorite Sports Team?

The Kansas Jayhawks, of course! We are also big supporters of the Detroit Lions and the New York Yankees.

Sweet or salty?

Major sweet tooth

Coffee or tea?

Coffee. Black. And in large quantities.

 Beach or mountains?

I have never been to the mountains, so I’ll have to stay beach…at least for now!

 Go out or stay in?

Stay in.
