What is the ARCPT+ Running Program?

The running program is an individualized assessment for someone who runs, jogs, or even fast-walks and has an injury they want evaluated. Injuries include, but are not limited to, things like foot, knee, hip or lower back pain. During the evaluation, we conduct a full assessment of motion, strength and balance, along with a running gait analysis. We also provide recommendations for footwear and an individualized exercise program.

Who is the program designed for and are there any requirements?

There are no special requirements––anyone can participate! The program is great for everyone from casual runners trying to get in better shape to dedicated athletes training for a 5K, half marathon or triathlon who want to get something checked out.

Why did you start the program?

I am passionate about running and wanted to help people who share my passion. Running can be a brief escape from everyday life, as well as a fulfilling fitness activity, and it can be extremely frustrating when you can’t run because of pain or limitations.

Tell us more about your background as a runner and sports medicine professional.

I started running in college, but I’ve become more serious about running over the last three years. I’ve run several 5Ks and 10Ks, four half-marathons and my first full marathon in April 2017. My professional background is in sports medicine, and I have worked with athletes from youth and high school to college and professional levels for more than 15 years. I also have a 3D MAPS (Three Dimensional Movement Analysis and Performance System) certification through the Gray Institute.

How do runners schedule an appointment?

To schedule your personalized running assessment, call Loredana at the ARC Physical Therapy+ at (913) 754-0888. Appointment times are flexible and available Monday through Friday. Assessments usually take about an hour. We offer a flat fee for the assessment or we can verify your health insurance benefits prior to your appointment.
